Dr. (Prof) Gourdas Choudhuri, MD, DM, FACG, FICP, FAMS, FRCPI, is the Director and HOD of Department of Gastroenterology Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. He is a gastroenterologist, clinical instructor, specialist of public prominence, just as a journalist and humanitarian. He prepared from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Dr. Choudhuri was quick to begin Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Extra Corporeal Shockwave Biliary Lithotripsy in India (ESWL). Under his initiative, the branch of Gastroenterology at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, formed into one of the main five in the country.
