Dr. Abhishek Yadav is a gastrointestinal and liver transplant surgeon and is the head of department of comprehensive liver care department at VPS Lakeshore hospital.

A native of New Delhi he did his MBBS from the prestigious SN Medical college Agra and his MS in surgery from Gujarat University where he scored the first position in the university exams and was awarded 3 gold medals for this achievement. Subsequently he secured second position in the All India entrance examination and was selected for the M.Ch in surgical gastroenterology from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi. After completing his M.Ch in 2010 he was selected for fellowship at Asan Medical Centre in South Korea which is considered the leading centre for living donor liver transplantation in the world. Upon his return to India in 2011 he pursued his fellowship in liver transplantation at Indraprastha Apollo hospital which is considered the Mecca for liver transplantation in India. After completing his fellowship in 2012 he was appointed as a consultant in the same hospital where he worked till 2015. During his tenure at Apollo hospital he participated in over 1000 liver transplant surgeries.  Dr. Abhishek Yadav has worked at some of the best hospitals in the country like Narayana hospitals Bangalore, Care hospitals Hyderabad and has helped establish liver transplantation in many centres across the country and the world.

Over his career spanning over 15 years Dr. Abhishek has gained an experience of over 1500 liver transplant surgeries and thousands of other liver and gastro surgeries. He has developed many new innovations in liver surgery and liver transplantation which have improved the success rate in liver transplantation.  He presently heads the liver surgery department at VPS Lakeshore hospital which is one of the most succesful liver transplant programs in South India and in the entire country.  His special area of interst is liver transplantation in small children and he has to his credit of succesfully doing a liver transplant for a 7 month old child.  He has an overall success rate of  92% for liver transplantation and a similar success rate for surgeries for liver cancer. Dr. Abhishek Yadav believes in providing low cost and effective care to his patients and he has done many liver transplant and other surgeries at subsidised rates for unaffording patients, he and his team believe in the philosophy that no patient should be denied care because of lack of funds. He has partnered with many charitable organisations which provide funding for children requiring liver transplantation.

In addition to his clinical work Dr. Abhishek is actively involved in training and teaching his younger colleagues, he has writen numerous papaers in national and international journals and is regularly invited to national and international meetings to deliver lectures.
